Centre County crews respond to building fire in Spring Township. Here’s what we know
Fire crews were called to the scene of a building fire Wednesday morning in Spring Township.
Crews responded to a call in the 100 block of Confer Drive just after 10 a.m. after smoke was seen from a window, according to a post from Centre County Emergency Alerts Facebook page.
All occupants were out of the building upon arrival, the post stated.
At about 11 a.m., no flames were visible at the home, which showed heavy damage on one side.
Spring Township police later posted on Facebook that the house sustained major damage and a family of seven “lost everything” inside. No one was injured but a family pet died in the fire, according to police.
A GoFundMe campaign was launched to assist with the family’s needs.
Alpha, Pleasant Gap, Undine, Logan and Walker Township fire companies were among those who responded to the scene.
