  • Bellefonte Borough appointed David Pribulka as interim borough manager.
  • Pribulka will replace Don Holderman and work around 25 hours weekly starting Sept. 9.
  • Council expressed unanimous support and may consider Pribulka for full-time role.

After spending three years away from municipality management in Centre County, Ferguson Township’s former manager is returning to the area for a role in Bellefonte Borough.

David Pribulka, who spent nine years with Ferguson Township before leaving in 2022 to take a manager position in Susquehanna Township, Dauphin County, was unanimously voted in as the borough’s interim manager at a special meeting Monday evening.

Pribulka will replace Don Holderman, who had been serving as the borough’s interim manager following former manager Ralph Stewart’s retirement in April. While Pribulka was unable to attend Monday evening’s meeting, he wrote on LinkedIn that he’s “thrilled and honored” to have been appointed.

“Not only do I have the privilege of serving the amazing council, staff and community of historic Bellefonte, but I get to reconnect to a place where I’ve made great memories with my family while doing what I love,” he wrote. “Can’t wait to get to work!”

According to Borough Council President Barbara Dann, Pribulka’s first day on the job is Wednesday. It was not shared at the meeting what Pribulka’s salary will be or the next steps for filling the permanent role. The borough and Dann did not immediately respond Tuesday to a request for that information.

Pribulka joins the borough from a county administrator job in Livingston County, New York, which he held for a year. Prior to that position, he worked for just over two years as Susquehanna Township’s manager.

After Pribulka was named the new interim manager, the members of the borough council had nothing but praise for the appointment, with councilman Randy Brachbill sharing that he was happy the borough was “moving forward in a positive direction.”

“I’m really looking forward to having David Pribulka back here, back in the county,” council member Joanne Tosti-Vasey said. “I have known him for several years, and I believe that this is a very good decision that the council just made.”
