It was a rainy Saturday, but Relay for Life of Bellefonte was still able to make the best of the event.
Spokeswoman Jen Leydig said the two-day event raised $78,564.80 for the American Cancer Society.
It included 31 teams with more than 250 participants.
“Though there was a little rain, it was still a very successful event,” Leydig said.
The event held at Bellefonte’s Governor’s Park on Friday and Saturday was one of a series of Relay for Life events held in the county.
Relay for Life at Penn State in April raised nearly $118,000, according to its website.
Relay for Life of The Moshannon Valley will be held June 18 at Geisinger Medical Center in Philipsburg. Relay for Life of Happy Valley will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 a.m. on June 25-26 at the Grange fairgrounds in Centre Hall.
