Drivers urged to be cautious as Amish family holds funeral for 3 killed in local farm accident
Signs urging drivers to use caution were displayed Thursday on Lower Brush Valley Road in anticipation of a large number of Amish mourners to the farm where three members of a family died.
Andrew Beiler, 47, and his two sons, Nathan Beiler, 19 and Daniel Beiler, 14, were killed Wednesday after being trapped in a silo on the Potter Township farm. They died of asphyxiation due to silo gases, Centre County Deputy Coroner Jason Brooks wrote in a statement, and their deaths were ruled accidental.
Visitation was held all day Thursday at the Beiler home, with the funeral to take place at noon Friday, according to an obituary. Signs set up on Lower Brush Valley Road Thursday urged drivers to slow down in the area.
