State Route 45 in Centre Hall area closed after vehicle crash, hundreds lose power

Both lanes were closed in a section of state Route 45 in Potter Township due to a crash Friday evening.

Route 45 was closed between Old Fort Road/Pennsylvania Avenue and Penns Cave Road as of 9 p.m., according to 511PA.

According to scanner reports, the crash occurred in the area of Hanover Foods. A vehicle crashed into a pole and wires were down on the vehicle, and the occupants were initially unable to get out of the vehicle, according to a post on the Centre County Emergency Alerts and Information Facebook page. It was later updated to say the police were at the scene and the occupants were out of the vehicle.

Hundreds of people were without power in the Centre Hall area Friday evening, according to West Penn Power’s outage map. By about 9:30 p.m., power was restored to most, with fewer than 100 without power in Potter Township.
