Missing Penns Valley man found safe with relatives, state police say

May 20, 2026, update: State police at Rockview said Paul Shore was found safe Wednesday with relatives in Texas. He left Pennsylvania under his own free will, the agency said.

State police at Rockview said Tuesday that troopers are searching for a missing Penns Valley man who was last seen more than a week ago at a campground in a rugged, heavily forested region of Centre County.

Paul Shore, 46, of Spring Mills, has been missing since at least May 8, police said in a public information release issued Tuesday night. He appears to have last been seen at Seven Mountains Campground, 101 Seven Mountains Campground Road, in Potter Township.

Shore, who is white, was listed as 6 feet tall, 160 pounds with brown hair and eyes. Those with information about Shore’s whereabouts may contact police at 814-355-7545.

Troopers released few details about the disappearance. It’s unclear what Shore was wearing at the time he disappeared, who reported him missing, if he has any known medical conditions or mental health concerns, what he was doing at the campground or if there are any concerns about foul play. An email sent Tuesday night to a police spokesperson was not immediately returned.

In a Facebook post, Shore’s daughter said she reported him missing Tuesday and shared photos of him.
