A Philipsburg area McDonald’s was closed for about four hours Tuesday while state police at Clearfield investigated a bomb threat that the department said was unfounded.

Troopers were dispatched about 8 a.m. to the fast food chain at 1015 N. Front St. in Clearfield County, Trooper Vaughn Norbert said. The business was evacuated until about noon.

No devices were found, Norbert said. Troopers were assisted by a police K-9. There is no known threat to the public, Norbert said.

The investigation is ongoing. Those with information may call state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
