A Philipsburg man died Saturday after a single-vehicle crash in Cambria County, state police at Ebensburg wrote in a report released Wednesday.

Marvin R. Branton, 66, failed to negotiate a left curve about 2:30 p.m. Saturday on Beaver Valley Road at its intersection with Hughstown Road, state police wrote.

His 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander crossed both lanes, struck two mailboxes, entered a ditch and struck a culvert, police wrote. He was transported by EMS to UPMC Altoona, where he died.

Branton was wearing a seat belt, police wrote.

Six people were killed in five crashes during the Labor Day weekend, the Pennsylvania State police said. The data does not include crashes to which other law enforcement responded.
