Philipsburg man’s death attributed to natural causes

A Philipsburg man who died at his home on Valentine’s Day is believed to have passed due to natural causes.

Edwin H. Smith, 45, of 323 Spruce St., was scheduled to have an autopsy Monday at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

State police at Philipsburg said in a release Tuesday that Smith was discovered dead at his home on Sunday at 11:15 p.m. Police said Smith had an ongoing health issue.
