The Moshannon Valley Pharmacy will have a new home soon.
The pharmacy, which operated in Peebles Plaza through Friday, will move into the Geisinger Medical Center Building in Philipsburg at 208 Medical Center Drive, according to a letter to customers.
The pharmacy’s move comes six months after Fezell’s County Market, which was in the same building as the dispensary, closed along with several other businesses. The property and pharmacy owners could not be reached for comment.
“We thank you for your continued business and support,” the letter said. “The last six months have been very wearisome and at times frustrating as we’ve dealt with the closing of the grocery store, the inability of the plaza’s landlord to accommodate with a new space and then, finally, terminating our lease.”
The pharmacy will be closed Saturday and Sunday to facilitate the move, but emergency calls to 342-3750 can be made for prescriptions to be delivered.
“We’re very excited that the pharmacy will move into Geisinger Philipsburg,” Doriann Lavery, medical director at Geisinger Philipsburg, said. “It’s very convenient for patients to come in for their appointments and get their prescriptions on their way out, eliminating a stop on their way home or back to work.”
While the pharmacy’s location will change, and with it a lack of a drive-thru for prescription pickups, its services will remain the same.
“As in the past, if you are not seeing a doctor at the Geisinger Medical Center, we can still fill prescriptions from any prescriber in Pennsylvania,” the letter said. “If you are unable to visit our new pharmacy, please have your doctor send your prescription to us and we will deliver your prescriptions free of charge.”
