State College police reported no arrests after Philadelphia Eagles fans emptied out into the streets of downtown State College Sunday night after the team’s Super Bowl win.

Calling the gathering a “celebratory disturbance,” a State College police spokesman said there was minimal damage as about 1,000-1,500 individuals gathered into the street along East Beaver Avenue after the end of the game. Officers in riot gear were dispersed in the area in an attempt to keep fans on the sidewalks.

The gathering lasted about 30-45 minutes, police said. Some damage was reported to signage downtown, but private property appeared unharmed.

Police said the gathering was “nothing of concern,” saying additional officers were not needed to help handle the crowd.
