Have you been waiting? It’s opening day for the new State College KFC
KFC made its long-awaited return Tuesday to Centre County after a nearly decadelong absence.
The worldwide chain opened a 2,800-square foot location at 1780 S. Atherton St. The eatery is scheduled to be open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m daily.
Customers can place orders at the drive-thru, in the 42-seat restaurant or online for pickup or delivery. About 40 people are employed at the business, a company spokesperson said.
Plans for the restaurant were approved in June 2018 by State College Borough Council. Santander Bank was demolished earlier this year to make way for the restaurant.
KFC last had a Centre County location at 2020 N. Atherton St. That space closed in 2012 and was replaced by Kranich’s Jewelers.
