Specialty cookie store chain to open its first Centre County shop. Here’s what to expect

Life in the State College area is going to get a little sweeter when a popular cookie delivery service opens for business this summer.

Crumbl Cookies will soon open its first Centre County store at 19 Colonnade Way in the former location of Jos. A Bank, which closed in 2020. The shop is expected to open by the end of August or September, according to a company representative, although development remains in “very early” stages and could be delayed.

Each Crumbl franchise runs on the same weekly schedule. Stores are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Crumbl shops are closed on Sundays.

Crumbl currently operates more than a dozen locations throughout Pennsylvania, including one in Williamsport and several near Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The company launched in 2017 and has since expanded to more than 500 stores throughout the country.

Crumbl’s claim to fame comes through its rotating menu and non-traditional cookie flavors. Each week, cookie shops feature a handful of distinct varieties in addition to its always-available chocolate chip cookies. Crumbl’s recent Fourth of July menu, for example, featured cookies flavored after cornbread, apple pie, blue raspberry and s’mores brownies.

Crumbl Cookies are available via delivery, curbside pickup or in-store purchase.

Through its mobile app, Crumbl offers cookies via delivery, curbside pickup and in-store purchases. Shipping and catering services are also available, although offered flavors may vary. Each cookie order comes in Crumbl’s distinct pink box.

The cookie chain, based out of Utah, also maintains a heavy social media presence with nearly 10 million followers across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and TikTok.

Crumbl Cookies is the latest business to announce it will open in the State College area this summer, joining the likes of Raising Cane’s, a new storefront for Way Fruit Farm and a locally owned bookshop.
