Lululemon’s Penn State apparel hit the shelves in Happy Valley. With it came long lines
If you drove past Family Clothesline on College Avenue in downtown State College Friday morning, you probably saw a very long line of students waiting to get into the Penn State branded clothing store.
Students were lined up around the block to get their hands on apparel from the highly anticipated launch of Lululemon’s line of licensed Penn State clothing, “lululemon // Penn State.” Family Clothesline opened its doors at 8 a.m. Friday. Only 30-40 customers were allowed in the store at a time between 8 and 10 a.m., according to an email from the store ahead of the launch. After 10 a.m., the limit was removed.
Lululemon, founded in 1998 in Vancouver, Canada, is a popular, high-end athletic apparel company. A post on the Family Clothesline’s Facebook page stated they’d be selling Align leggings, Wunder tights, belt bags, scuba tops, Swiftly tops, Pace Rival Skirts and more as part of the line.
For those who didn’t want to wait in line Friday, the remaining inventory will be available online beginning 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at www.pennstateclothes.com. The store expects to get more shipments throughout the fall, but there is no guarantee that a product, size or color will be available again, according to a Facebook post.
