Avoid the area: State College homecoming starts today. See which roads are closed

Several roads will be closed Thursday evening for the State College Area School District’s Homecoming Parade.

The parade will start at 6 p.m. at State High before turning onto Westerly Parkway, crossing Atherton Street and turning onto South Allen. The parade will turn onto West Nittany Avenue before ending at Memorial Field.

After the parade, a pep rally will be held at Memorial Field for students, families and community members. On Friday, State High will play Carlisle at home, followed by a homecoming dance for students on Saturday.

Several other schools around Centre County are celebrating homecoming events this weekend. Bald Eagle Area High School will also host its homecoming game against Philipsburg-Osceola on Friday. Grace Prep and St. Joesph’s Catholic Academy will host homecoming celebrations on Friday as well.

Bellefonte Area School District and P-O celebrated at the end of September.

Penns Valley Area School District has the last homecoming events, starting with a parade on Oct. 13, followed by a game against Tyrone on Oct. 14.
