State College police ask for help in contacting owner of dog that bit child at Arts Fest
State College police are asking the public for help in finding the owner of a dog that bit a child at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts on Thursday.
Between 3-4 p.m. Thursday, an 11-year-old girl playing in the water buckets on South Allen Street was accidentally bitten by a dog, police wrote in a news release. Because the rabies vaccination status of the dog was not obtained, the child is undergoing the precautionary rabies shot protocol, police wrote.
The dog was described as a Rottweiler under the supervision of a woman wearing a purple dress. The woman also had a second dog with her at the time.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the State College Police Department at 814-234-7150, by email or to submit an anonymous tip through the department’s website.
Arts Fest requests that people not bring dogs to the festival unless they’re assistance dogs.
