Delays possible as roadwork begins at North Atherton Street intersection

Construction will begin Monday on North Atherton Street at the Woodycrest Street intersection, PennDOT said Friday.

Ameron Construction will have long-term traffic control in place for the project, which will upgrade traffic signals and extend the westbound turning lane to enter Aldi. The project is expected to be finished in early August. This work is not associated with a PennDOT project, the agency noted.

The left lane on both sides of Atherton Street will be closed as the center lane is rebuilt. PennDOT expects minimal effects on traffic but advises drivers to be alert for flaggers and to plan for possible delays.

After this project is complete, work will begin at the intersection with North Atherton Place.
