Speed bumps coming to College Township as part of traffic calming project
Construction for a traffic calming project will begin in College Township this week.
Beginning Tuesday, traffic calming measures will be constructed in four phases on Oak Ridge and Shamrock Avenue, the township announced in a press release.
The Centre Hills Village Traffic Calming project consists of 14 raised speed humps; seven will be located on each avenue.
Construction of the four phases is scheduled to run through Aug. 10.
Phase 1: Aug. 1-2, Oak Ridge Avenue from Squirrel Drive to Dublin Street
Phase 2: Aug. 3-4, Oak Ridge Avenue from Dublin Street to Country Club Road
Phase 3: Aug. 7-8, Shamrock Avenue from Country Club Road to Dublin Street
Phase 4: Aug. 9-10, Shamrock Avenue from Dublin Street to Squirrel Drive
Line painting for the project is scheduled for the week of Aug. 14. The schedule is subject to change based on weather and other factors, the release states.
Through traffic will be restricted from the work area in each phase but local traffic will be permitted, according to the release. Updates can be found on the township’s website and social media.
