Detroit-style pizza place opens in downtown State College. Check out their menu, hours
Downtown State College welcomed a new Detroit-style pizza shop on Tuesday.
8 Mile Pizza opened Tuesday morning at 300 S. Pugh St., State College, at the former Gumby’s location, according to social media posts.
The pizza shop offers Detroit-style pizza, which is described on the menu as a square pie, thick, airy dough, cheese blend and red sauce. Pizza variations include classic Detroit, pepperoni, buffalo chicken, cheesesteak, chicken bacon ranch, barbecue chicken, vodka sauce and fresh tomato garlic. The menu also lists subs, wings (flavors: buffalo, buffalo garlic parm, barbecue, spicy dill barbecue, Carolina gold barbecue and lemon pepper dry rub), cheese sticks, baked pretzel sticks and salads.
Their hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. The shop is closed on Monday.
