P.J. Harrigan’s in State College closed but will soon reopen under new name. What we know
P.J. Harrigan’s Bar & Grill, at the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center on South Atherton Street, closed last week but will soon reopen under a new name.
The bar and grill, which has been open in State College since 1998, announced on its website that it closed March 23. On a sign posted on the door, the restaurant said it is “with great sadness” that they’re closing and thanked its “wonderful guests and employees for supporting us over these past years.”
“We are extremely humbled that so many embraced our restaurant and that we were able to succeed as long as we had and we could not have done it without all of you,” the sign read.
On April 2, the restaurant will reopen as Celebrities Bar and Grill. The menu posted online includes handhelds such as cheesesteak and chicken BLT and burgers. The appetizer menu features stuffed mushrooms, wings, shrimp skewers and wagyu sliders, just to name a few.
Guests can expect entrees such as crab cakes, ribeye steak, cottage pie and honey dijon pomegranate salmon, along with some salads.
The dessert menu includes baked Alaska, milkshakes and a seasonal fruit tart.
Daily specials are also available.
Celebrities’ drink menu showcases martinis, cocktails, beer draft, bottled beer, champagne, and white and red wine. The cocktail list includes more traditional drinks, but also concoctions like a creamy rootbeer rum or cinnamon sugar crunch — which is fireball, rumchata, vanilla vodka and cinnamon toast crunch dust.
“We look forward to welcoming your family and friends to our new restaurant and bar,” the sign states.
