FBI asks for help identifying arson and pro-Palestine graffiti suspect in State College
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking the public for assistance in identifying an unknown person who committed arson and sabotaged the side of a U.S. Department of Defense contractor building in State College over the summer.
An unknown person spray painted pro-Palestine graffiti on the side of the building on Science Park Road on June 4, the FBI Philadelphia division wrote in a press release on Tuesday. After spray painting messages like “For the Martyrs,” “Escalate 4 Rafah,” and “Free Palestine,” the individual attempted to enter the secure facility, the release states, but ran away after security confronted them, the FBI wrote.
A few days later on June 9 the person returned and spray painted the building with “Intifada is here” and an inverted red triangle, and “doused the area in a flammable liquid,” the release states.
“The area included a compressed natural gas pipeline, a natural gas generator, and a nearby transformer, all of which are in close proximity to the building. The suspect set fire to the liquid and fled on foot in the same direction as the previous incident,” the FBI wrote.
The individual’s description is white, between 5 feet, 9 inches and 6 feet tall, with longer blond or light brown hair, and a shoe size between a men’s 10 and 11, or a woman’s 12 and 13, according to the FBI.
The FBI is offering up to a $10,000 reward for info that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the incident. Any information related to this can be reported to the local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate. The FBI Philadelphia can be reached at 215-418-4000.
