The race will take place at 9 a.m. May 31, starting at the State College Municipal Building, 243 S. Allen Street, State College. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to come together in celebration, visibility and support of the LGBT+ community, a press release from the Centre LGBT+ states. Everyone is invited to wear their most creative and colorful rainbow attire.

Falcon Race Timing will do the professional race timing so there will be an accurate and competitive experience for everyone, the release states. The top three overall finishers will get awards, as well as a special award for the best pride gear to celebrate the spirit and creativity of the day.

To participate, registration is required and is open online at runsignup.com/Race/PA/StateCollege/Pride5kLoveOnDisplay. There is an early bird special of $25 available through May 15 and after that, registration will increase to $30. There will be no same-day registration, so all participants must pre-register online.

Ian Hill, executive assistant at Centre LGBT+, said Pride 5K: Love on Display is more than a race.

“It’s an opportunity for our community to show up, stand proud, and visibly support LGBT+ individuals and families across Centre County,” Hill said. Proceeds from the race will support Centre LGBT+ programs.
