The Chili’s restaurant on South Allen Street will close May 16, according to several employees who declined to be identified.
The restaurant manager, who identified himself only as Todd, declined comment. Chili’s parent company Brinker International Restaurants did not respond to requests for comment.
Stephen Morris, who owns the liquor license at the eatery, could not be reached for comment. He opened the restaurant in 1994.
There is no pending transfer on the location’s liquor license, according to the state Liquor Control Board’s website.
On Tuesday, the Centre Daily Times emailed borough Manager Tom Fountaine a Right To Know request and has yet to receive a response.
It is unknown what will take the eatery’s place.
