The Park Forest Community Pool will remain closed at least until Friday because of a pump malfunction, according to Centre Region Parks and Recreation aquatics supervisor Todd Roth.

Roth said a crucial part of the pump had failed and had to be custom-made. CRPR is waiting for the part to be shipped so that the repairs can be made. Once the repairs are made, Roth said, the water will have to be filtered and chlorinated before the pool can reopen.

The toddler pool and splash pads, however, remain open. Roth said he hoped the main pool would be open Friday.
