A Ferguson Township supervisor-elect is being taken to court for not meeting a requirement of the position.
Ferguson Township released a statement Saturday that said Ferguson Township solicitor Joseph Green, acting on direction from the Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors, filed a complaint on Thursday in the Court of Common Pleas against Third Ward Supervisor-elect Colleen Unroe.
The allegations against the supervisor-elect are that she does not meet the provisions of Section 2.05 of the Ferguson Township Home Rule Charter, according to the statement.
The provision states that “a candidate for the office of supervisor shall be a citizen of the United States, shall have been a resident and a registered elector of Ferguson Township for at least 1 year prior to the date of his/her election.”
