State College native competes on ‘Jeopardy!’
A pop music milestone stumped all three “Jeopardy!” contestants Friday, including State College native Therese Jones.
Jones, a space policy analyst, was unable to come up with Helen Reddy’s “I am Woman” as the song that in 1972 became the first to top the Billboard charts by an artist born in Australia.
Neither of her competitors answered correctly, leaving Jones in second place.
“It’s hard,” she said earlier this week of her experience on the show, which was filmed in January. “If you buzz in too early you get locked out, but it’s about timing and who can press it the fastest. You just have to hope your timing is good.”
