Young Scholars of Central Pennsylvania Charter School students are set to unveil a multicultural mosaic mural created by the school’s third- through eighth-grade students.
The students have been working with mosaic artist Anju Jolly and Olcay Ayata twice a week to create the mural that “encompasses the school’s values,” a Young Scholars news release said. After visiting the school, Jolly was inspired to include the diversity of the school by outlining the mural with flags from different countries and children dressed in clothing from different cultures.
Unveiling of the mural will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, the release said. The mural will be hung on an exterior wall in the front of the school.
