Mike McQueary cited for illegal hunting activity
Mike McQueary was fined $244.50 for illegal hunting activity just days after a Centre County jury awarded him $7.3 million in damages stemming from a defamation trial against Penn State.
The ex-Penn State offensive coach was fined due to illegally baiting deer. The Pennsylvania Northcentral Game Commission cited McQueary on Oct. 29.
McQueary became a central figure in the Jerry Sandusky case when the story of him seeing a boy in the Lasch Building locker room shower with Sandusky became public knowledge. The Lasch Building is an 89,000-square-foot building used by Penn State’s football team.
Penn State argued that McQueary’s actions, not the university’s actions, damaged him. A jury disagreed with the university.
Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of child sex abuse in 2012.
