Police remind residents to lock vehicles after reports of 56 thefts

State College police are continuing to investigate a rash of thefts from vehicles in the State College area over the past several weeks.

According to police, 56 reports of thefts have been filed since May 24. The thefts have occurred in Lemont and Boalsburg neighborhoods and involve items being stolen out of unlocked vehicles.

Residents are encouraged to lock their vehicles and remove any items of value, police said. Residents are also encouraged to report any suspicious person in their neighborhoods, especially during the morning hours.
