Williamsburg man faces felony statutory assault charges

A man is facing several felony counts of statutory sexual assault alleging intercourse with a minor.

According to state police at Hollidaysburg, an investigation into Luke A. Kauruter, 21, of Williamsburg, started on May 31. Evidence was gathered indicating he had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old female on several occasions, police said.

Kauruter was arrested Tuesday, police said, and arraigned on felony charges of statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors. He was incarcerated in the Blair County Prison on 10 percent of $50,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 20.
