Signage reported stolen from state park
Officials at the Raymond B. Winter State Park are seeking information on the alleged theft of a sign over the weekend.
According to an email by park manager Michael Crowley, unknown individuals cut the Smokey the Bear sign from its post and stole it Saturday night. Signage has previously been taken from the park, he said, but the individual was apprehended.
“I am very certain that there are many people who know who is responsible for the Smokey Bear sign,” he said in the email. “I truly hope someone stands up and reports these individuals.”
Winter State Park is located in Hartley Township in Union County, just across the border of Miles Township in Centre County. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact park officials at 570-966-1455.
