Philipsburg man faces new drug, fleeing charges
A Philipsburg man taken into custody earlier this month faces new charges stemming from a police chase and subsequent investigation.
Hunter R. Anderson, 23, reportedly led police on a high-speed pursuit through Centre and Blair counties early June 3 before losing control of the vehicle, state police said. The vehicle traveled off the roadway and became airborne off an 10-foot cement flood wall, overturning several times before coming to a rest in the river.
Anderson had also allegedly fled from police in a chase on May 19, police said. He and a second individual had reportedly left a disabled pickup truck along railroad tracks in Rush Township and fled the scene on foot.
About 40 grams of methamphetamine, 2 grams of cocaine and a small amount of suspected crack cocaine were located in the vehicle Anderson was driving during the June 3 pursuit, state police at Philipsburg said Friday in a news release. Packaging material, a digital scale and other paraphernalia were also reportedly located.
Anderson was charged with felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, flight to avoid apprehension and fleeing police, according to court documents. He also faces misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI, criminal mischief and more than 60 summary traffic offenses.
A preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
