Philipsburg man waives hearing on terroristic threats charges

A Philipsburg man who allegedly threatened to shoot an Osceola Mills man in the head waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday during centralized court in Clearfield County.

Ryan Michael Muir, 30, is charged with misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment. His bail was reduced Wednesday from $50,000, monetary to $50,000, unsecured.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, at 12:30 p.m. on July 4, the man was sitting in a chair on his porch smoking a cigarette when Muir came walking down the street. Muir reportedly approached the man and asked him if he had gotten a job.

The man told police that Muir pulled out a silver hand gun and put a bullet in the chamber. Muir then allegedly pointed the gun at the man and said he was high and going to shoot him in the head, according to the affidavit.

A witness told police he saw what happened and corroborated the man’s account that Muir pulled out a pistol and threatened to shoot him.
