State College police seek 3 men suspected in fight

State College police are seeking three men suspected of being involved in an alleged downtown assault early Sunday.

According to police, at about 2:45 a.m., a 29-year-old male “visitor” to State College was standing along the 100 block of South Pugh Street “calling friends and passersby names.” Three men reportedly took offense to the comments and confronted the man.

A fight ensued during which the visitor was punched and knocked unconscious, police said. He was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center.

One of the three men was described as wearing camouflage, while a second was described as having a red beard, police said. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact State College police at 234-7150.
