Man faces exposure, lewdness charges for urinating in state park

A Mifflin County man faces charges in Centre County after allegedly exposing himself at a public campground.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Reeds Gap State Park police, an officer was approached by a complainant on Aug. 2 at Poe Paddy State Park, claiming he had an issue with a man who was coming around the park and acting in a suspicious manner.

The complainant claimed the man, identified as Donald L. Krepps, 65, of Milroy, was coming into the campground and “making himself at home with several of the campers,” police said. Over the course of two to three days, he reportedly spoke with several people at the campground and “always kept an eye on the children.”

On July 30, police said, Krepps spoke with one individual about his truck while consuming several beers, then urinated on the campsite behind the truck before leaving. He returned the following day and reportedly appeared intoxicated.

After allegedly consuming more beer, he urinated by the truck again, police said, when he was confronted by the complainant. He reportedly continued urinating and exposed himself before putting himself “back together” and continued urinating on himself.

He left shortly after being told by the complainant not to return, police said.

Krepps was arraigned via summons Friday by District Judge Thomas Jordan, according to court documents, and faces misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure and open lewdness, and summary counts of disorderly conduct and violating the rules on commonwealth property. A preliminary hearing is slated for Oct. 11.
