Fistfight erupts on side of road, police say

State police on Saturday responded to a physical altercation along state Route 75, near the Franklin County line in Lackawana Township, Juniata County.

Police say George Gray, 64, of Port Royal, and Gerald Casner, 54, of Honey Grove, were traveling independently on state Route 75 South when Casner felt Gray was traveling too closely behind him. Casner pulled his vehicle to the side of the road and motioned for Gray to pass him. In response, Gray stopped behind him. Casner then exited his vehicle, stood in the roadway, and allegedly yelled at Gray to engage in a fight. As Casner approached, police say Gray punched him in the head, and Casner responded with a punch as the two men fell onto the roadway.

Non-traffic citations were issued through district court.
