A man is facing several charges for what police described as a kidnapping.
Police say the alleged incident involving Dalton Scott Shade, 24, of Petersburg, took place over a 13-hour period after midnight Nov. 5 at a residence off Charter Oak Road in Barree Township.
Shade allegedly pushed a woman onto a bed and choked her until she became lightheaded, according to state police at Huntingdon, and covered nose and mouth to keep her from screaming.
The woman told Shade she was going to get a ride home, according to police. He responded by allegedly throwing her down, choking her from behind and telling her she could not get a ride home. He then allegedly threatened to kill her and then her family if she didn’t make “s--t” right.

Shade allegedly made the woman get in a vehicle with him, and he drove to a convenience store where she was able to run to a man who was pumping gas, police said. The man called police, and Shad fled the scene.
Shade was charged with felony kidnapping, felony strangulation, misdemeanor false imprisonment, misdemeanor terroristic threats, misdemeanor simple assault, misdemeanor reckless endangerment and harassment, a summary offense.
Bail was denied by Huntingdon County District Judge Douglas Gummo, based on authorities’ belief that Shade would be a threat to the woman. He was taken to Huntingdon County Prison.
