Have you bought gas at Snappy’s? If so, your account may have been breached, police say

A credit/debit card skimmer was found inside a gas pump at Snappy’s Convenience Store at 535 University Drive, according to State College police.

The skimmer is believed to have been installed in gas pump No. 1 between Feb. 28 and March 7. The device would have allowed the unknown suspect(s) to gather credit/debit card information, including PIN numbers, from cards used at the pump.

Anyone who may have used the pump during the period is advised to contact their card issuer and notify them of a potential breach of their account. If fraudulent activity is detected, police are asking customers to contact the department and reference case number SCP201801820.

Anyone who may have information about the incident is urged to call police at 234-7150 or submit an anonymous tip.
