4 men face charges following investigation into fight in downtown State College
Four men were charged in connection with a September fight in downtown State College that left three other men injured.
It started when a woman called Anthony Dinallo and told him a group of men sitting in front of Bagel Crust, 225 W. Beaver Ave., made a crude comment toward her, a borough police officer wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.
Dinallo, 45, of Boalsburg, and Maurice Freeman, 41, of Bellefonte; Sabir Bacon, 35, of Dauphin County; and Brady Grove, 36, of State College, drove from Boalsburg and approached the men, police wrote.
Dinallo is accused of flipping the group’s table over and making several statements, including “someone is going to die.”
Freeman is accused of “violently” and repeatedly punching two men, while Bacon and Grove are accused of punching and shoving one man, respectively.
One man received treatment for a broken jaw that required surgery, a second man received treatment for a chipped tooth and a dislocated finger and a third man received treatment for a concussion and several lacerations, police wrote.
Freeman’s defense lawyer Ron Saupe declined to comment Tuesday. A defense lawyer was not listed for Dinallo, Bacon or Grove.
Freeman was charged with one felony count of aggravated assault and one misdemeanor count each of simple assault and disorderly conduct.
He was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge Casey McClain, who released Freeman pending his appearance at future court proceedings.
Dinallo was charged with one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct and one summary count of criminal mischief. Bacon was charged with one misdemeanor count of simple assault.
Freeman, Dinallo and Bacon each have a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 4.
Grove was charged with one summary count of disorderly conduct. He has not yet entered a plea.
