Drugs, paraphernalia found in Julian home were ‘readily accessible’ to kids, police say

A Julian man was jailed Friday after state police at Rockview accused him of having meth, liquid Xanax and about 125 needles inside a residence that was home to two children.

Officers were dispatched Wednesday to the 1400 block of Allegheny Street to assist Centre County Children and Youth Services with an unannounced home visit, police wrote in an affidavit of probable cause filed Thursday.

An officer found white pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Michal Post’s bedroom, police wrote. The needles were found where one of the two children typically sleeps, police wrote.

Officers also found 14 methamphetamine pipes and several other illegal controlled substances that were “readily accessible” to both children, police wrote.

Both children were removed Wednesday from the residence and sent to a verified CYS caretaker, police wrote.

A defense lawyer for Post was not listed on a court document.

Post, 40, was charged with one felony count of child endangerment and one misdemeanor count each of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Post was arraigned Friday by District Judge Allen Sinclair, who set bail at $25,000. He did not post bail and is detained at the Centre County Correctional Facility.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.

Charges, including two felony counts of child endangerment, are also pending against a Julian woman.
