Assistant Millheim Fire Company chief facing child sexual misconduct charges
The first assistant chief of the Millheim Fire Company was accused Thursday by state police at Rockview of sexual misconduct with a child.
Floyd Etters, 55, was accused by the child of making inappropriate sexual comments, unwanted kissing and groping in August, police wrote in an affidavit of probable cause filed Thursday.
Etters, of Aaronsburg, became aware of the allegations Thursday and pleaded not guilty, defense lawyer Brian Manchester said.
As of Friday, Etters remains an assistant chief, Millheim Fire Company Chief Delmer Homan said.
Etters was charged with one felony count of unlawful contact with a minor and one misdemeanor count each of indecent assault without consent and indecent assault of someone younger than 16.
He was arraigned Thursday by District Judge Tom Jordan, who released Etters on $20,000 unsecured bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
