Patton Township man faces felony charges after allegedly raping a woman at knifepoint
A Patton Township man was jailed after he was accused Wednesday of raping a woman at knifepoint.
The woman told police she grabbed a knife and told Katlo Magogodi, 22, to leave her apartment after he “attempted to force himself” on her, police wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.
Magogodi is accused of taking the knife from the woman, poking her in the chest with the knife and raping her earlier this month, police wrote.
He admitted in an interview with police to having sex with the woman, but claimed it was consensual and the knife was used “as part of role play,” police wrote. The woman told him “no” several times, police wrote.
She also accused Magogodi of unwanted kissing and fondling her two days before the alleged rape. Magogodi admitted to trying to kiss her before, but was told “no,” police wrote.
Defense lawyer Helen Stolinas did not immediately respond Thursday to a request for comment.
Magogodi was charged with four felony counts of aggravated assault, one felony count each of rape and sexual assault, and four misdemeanor counts of indecent assault.
He was arraigned Wednesday by District Judge Tom Jordan, who set bail at $100,000. Magogodi did not post bail and is detained at the Centre County Correctional Facility.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
