A Clearfield County man is in jail after state police at Rockview accused him of breaking into a woman’s home Friday, assaulting her and a dog and running away from officers while naked.

David Bainey, 42, broke into the Philipsburg home about 11:10 p.m. Friday after the woman told him to leave, police wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.

Bainey disrobed, strangled the woman and said he could kill her before leaving, police wrote. He was arrested after being immobilized with a stun gun.

Bainey was also accused of strangling and slamming his dog into the ground, breaking three car mirrors and hitting a windshield with a brick. He was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, police wrote.

A defense lawyer was not listed.

Bainey was charged with one felony count each of criminal trespassing and burglary. He was also charged with five misdemeanor counts each of indecent exposure and open lewdness, four misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, one misdemeanor count each of strangulation, terroristic threats, animal cruelty and resisting arrest, and one summary count of public drunkenness.

He was arraigned Saturday by District Judge Don Hahn, who set bail at $90,000. Bainey did not post bail and is detained at the Centre County Correctional Facility.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 12.
