Children were living in ‘general filth,’ police say. Two people are facing charges

Arrest warrants were issued Thursday for two people accused by state police at Rockview of having three children live in deplorable conditions.

The children — all younger than 15 — were removed in February from the Benner Township home by Centre County Children and Youth Services, police wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.

Lori Zimmerman, 42, and her boyfriend Ryan Diricco, 42, lived in “general filth,” police wrote. That allegedly included several illegal drugs, accessible razor blades, open paint canisters, broken glass, no running water and dishes stacked around the kitchen with rotten food.

One of the children said they did not feel safe in the home, police wrote.

A defense lawyer was not listed for either Zimmerman or Diricco. Messages were left with phone numbers listed for each.

Zimmerman was charged with three felony counts of child endangerment and two misdemeanor drug charges. Diricco was charged with one felony count of child endangerment and two misdemeanor drug charges.

An arraignment has not been scheduled.
