Philipsburg man charged, accused of raping an infant in Centre County

A Philipsburg man was charged Friday with child rape.

Andrew L. Ramage, 26, admitted during a March interview to digitally penetrating a 1-year-old in January, state police at Rockview wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.

Multiple doctors told investigators the infant’s injuries were “consistent with sexual assault,” police wrote. The infant was evaluated at Geisinger Philipsburg.

A message was left with defense lawyer Karen Kuebler.

Ramage was also charged with one felony count of aggravated indecent assault of a child, as well as one misdemeanor count each of indecent assault and simple assault.

He was arraigned Friday by District Judge Allen Sinclair, who released him on $250,000 unsecured bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 26.
