Centre County man arrested, accusing of inappropriately touching a child
A Centre County man was arrested Monday on charges that accused him of inappropriately touching a child.
Dennis L. Ring, 52, of Benner Township, was accused of digitally penetrating and groping a preteen at least twice. Defense lawyer Stephanie Cooper declined comment.
The child told a forensic interviewer the first time Ring inappropriately touched her was in December, state police at Rockview wrote in an affidavit of probable cause. She also said Ring groped her in March, police wrote.
Ring told investigators he groped the child at least once, police wrote. He denied inappropriately touching the child more than once, police wrote.
“I guarantee you I did it if I was drunk,” Ring said, according to police.
Ring was charged with three felony counts of indecent assault of someone younger than 13 and one felony count of aggravated indecent assault of a child.
He was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge Allen Sinclair, who released him on $100,000 unsecured bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 27.
