Philipsburg man gets years in prison for raping girl in York County parking lot
A Philipsburg man was sentenced Thursday to at least 7 1/2 years in state prison for raping a young girl in southern Pennsylvania.
Dylan T. McClintock, 21, was sentenced by York County Judge Gregory M. Snyder to a maximum of 15 years in prison. He received credit for about nine months served in the York County Prison and was also sentenced to three years of probation.
He must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, but was found to not be a sexually violent predator. Defense lawyer T. Korey Leslie did not share an extensive statement when contacted Thursday by the Centre Daily Times, saying simply that McClintock accepted responsibility for the attack.
He was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in a parking lot last year during Memorial Day weekend. He met the child through the online chat platform Chatib, Northern York County Regional police wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.
The department alleged McClintock drove to York County, lured the child away from her home and raped her in the parking lot. Officers began investigating after the child’s mother discovered her missing about 2:50 a.m.
McClintock pleaded guilty in November to one felony count of child rape. Nine other charges were dropped.
