A Harrisburg man has been charged after investigators said he made trips to Centre County to deliver large amounts of methamphetamine.
Jaionne T. Miller, 25, was taken into custody Monday following a joint investigation with the Centre County Drug Task Force and the state Attorney General’s Office.
Miller made trips between Dauphin County and Centre County during March to sell meth, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Spring Township police. Miller offered to sell meth via text to a confidential informant for between $2,500-3,000 per pound, the affidavit read.
On April 1, detectives followed the confidential informant to Walmart on North Atherton Street, where they saw Miller hand the informant a plastic bag that contained approximately 2 pounds of suspected methamphetamine from the trunk of his car in exchange for $6,000.
The meth was confirmed by the Pennsylvania State Police Regional Laboratory in Harrisburg and had a street value of more than $80,000, according to Spring Township police, which assisted in the investigation.
Miller was charged with felony count of manufacturing, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver; a felony of the third degree for criminal use of a communication facility; a misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor for intentional possession of a controlled substance by person not registered.
Additional charges are expected, Spring Township police wrote in a Facebook post.
Miller was arraigned by district judge Casey M. McClain. He was denied bail and is incarcerated at the Centre County Correctional Facility with a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 9.
