A man was arrested Thursday after an employee of a downtown State College business told police he threatened to rape and kill her.

Keenan J. Kimbrough, 32, of Allegheny County, threatened the woman for nearly 20 minutes Thursday inside a business along the 100 block of East College Avenue, State College police wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.

The woman told officers she felt uncomfortable when Kimbrough began flirting with her in the store. He responded by telling her he would “rip out your organs,” police wrote.

She also said Kimbrough mentioned having a firearm and “how he would use it” before making several sexually explicit and violent comments. An officer who interviewed her said she was emotionally upset and “scared for her life.”

Kimbrough left the store and was found by officers about a block away, police wrote. The department told the Centre Daily Times officers did not find a weapon in his possession.

He’s charged with misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct, as well as a summary count of retail theft. No defense lawyer was listed.

Kimbrough is incarcerated at the Centre County Correctional Facility after District Judge Steven Lachman set bail at $25,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
