Virginia man charged with the sexual assault of teen in State College

A man arrested Thursday was charged with the sexual assault of a State College Area High School student.

Lester L. Turner III, 23, of Virginia, is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old in January 2022. He was 18 years old at the time.

The State College police investigation began in August 2023 after a high school administrator said the student disclosed she was assaulted in the back seat of Turner’s vehicle in the rear parking lot of Wendy’s along University Drive, a detective wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.

Turner was accused of unwanted kissing and disrobing the teen before the alleged sexual assault. The detective said the teen told investigators during a forensic interview that Turner ignored her when she told him to stop and instead held his hand over her mouth.

Police said messages sent through the popular video service TikTok showed Turner admitted to having intercourse with the girl. No defense attorney was listed.

District Judge Don Hahn set bail at 5% of $200,000. Turner is incarcerated at the Centre County Correctional Facility and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
